Sustainability in focus: Tapwell Group promotes a responsible and environmentally friendly business.

Bricmate is part of the Tapwell Group. We strive to integrate sustainability into every step of our business, from production to deliveries and recycling. By offering quality products with a long lifespan, made from sustainable materials, the group strives to create profitable business while contributing to societal benefit.

For Tapwell Group, sustainability is about taking a holistic perspective and considering social, economic and environmental aspects within the companies. Sustainability work is an integrated part of the group and it is a natural part of our daily work. Through clear goals and continuous improvement, we focus on promoting sustainable development with the UN Global Goals as a guide.

The group has specifically selected focus areas to achieve its goals, which include reducing the products' climate and environmental impact, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing results and efficiency, using materials from sustainable and sustainable processing and running a responsible business. By working towards the UN's global sustainability goals, Tapwell Group strives to make a real difference for a more sustainable future.

What do we do ourselves?

Bricmate works actively to improve our environmental performance as far as is technically possible and economically reasonable.

We hold diplomas according to the Swedish Environmental Base; the diploma requirements are strict and are based on the fact that we constantly improve our environmental performance and continuously review our routines and processes. Our environmental impact lies largely in the production of ceramic products.

All our ceramics are manufactured by leading and high-tech producers in Europe with a focus in Italy and Spain, where continuous environmental management work is part of the daily routine. The EU-common environmental work together with the geographical proximity to the producers means that emissions from shipping are minimised.

Bricmate offers a range of porcelain stoneware where parts of the range are inspired by marble, limestone and other natural stone looks. This means, in some sense, that finite natural stone resources can be saved in favour of ceramic variants made of sand, feldspar and clay. Our series J Norrvange is, for example, inspired by the Gotland limestone, M Glanshammar and M Kolmården, which mimic classic Swedish marble varieties.

The small details make a difference! Since 2022, 100% of our range are produced in Europe. This has led to a sharp decline in our carbon dioxide emissions in connection with transport.

We always want to make the better choice for the environment. Take part in our latest successes in our work for the environment and feel free to read more about our environmental work in our environmental policy.
